To the park
Get to the park with a happy dog. Stop and wait while it sniffs, but the clock is running. Cyclists come along the path, and a dog out wide is a near miss. Pick your lead before you set off: you're stuck with it until the gate.

Notes
Points come from sniffs. Jolts, near misses and every two seconds over par take them away. The short lead is safe and dull: no near misses, and the dog never reaches most of the smells. The long line can score best, but only if you pay attention. Leave it alone and the cyclists find you.
The music works as it did in Short lead, long line: your footsteps are the beat, the dog ahead pushes its notes early and behind lays them back, a sniff is a rest. When you stop to wait, the footsteps stop too, and the dog plays on its own.
The game half of a dog-walking idea imagined years ago and never made. Made on 19 October to fill Day 18. All sound is synthesised as it plays.
