A sketchpad for sound, played by typing. I wanted a quick shell for trying out samples, so this is one: four built-in sounds, any audio files you drop in, and a handful of commands. Click a command under the console, or type help.
The one worth hearing is phrase. Play the same sample eight times and it sounds like a machine. A phrase swells and falls away the way a player would: loudness, brightness and pitch rise and fall together, and the timing pushes and pulls a little. Try play bell three times, then phrase bell n=8.
With a nod to Alex McLean (Yaxu), who made TidalCycles and co-founded TOPLAP: typed code as an instrument, played in the open. This is a much smaller thing in that spirit.
